Due to their strong focus on developing and commercializing technologies, DevOps is a must for Sasol, especially in relation to digital transformation.
As a result of the DevOps transformation at Sasol, the change process and lead time couldn’t keep up with the speed of DevOps. The tools supporting the end-to-end value chain were disconnected, causing Product Owners to manually gather all the work items—s a cumbersome process that took weeks.
We integrated the ServiceNow change process in the CI/CD pipeline to expedite and automate Change Management. We implemented ServiceNow Agile 2.0, which includes a Unified Backlog, to enable a single product overview with all relevant tasks.
Sasol now enjoys a simplified change process for DevOps and CI/CD-driven development. The lead time has been reduced from weeks to minutes and Product Owners now have a single overview of all product-related work thanks to the unified backlog.
