The best new features from the ServiceNow Yokohama release

ServiceNow Yokohama release is here, bringing with it a lot of exciting new features and capabilities. A new release also means a ton of release notes. Don’t want to spend hours reading them? We got you – here’s the scoop on what’s new and improved in Yokohama!

Query Builder

In the ServiceNow Yokohama release, the Query Builder has been upgraded! ServiceNow has combined the classic UI and the modern workspace, making it easier for admins to switch between them. You will get a smoother experience with visual cues and drag-and-drop features to make things even easier. Moving on to the key benefits, the ServiceNow Yokohama release makes building complex queries simpler with a more interactive and user-friendly design. Admins can easily switch between the classic and modern interfaces, making everything run more smoothly. Moreover, the new design also includes visual cues to help with testing and fine-tuning queries.

Data Management Console

Managing the footprint of ServiceNow data is a topic for many of our customers. The new Data Management Console in ServiceNow Yokohama release offers administrators a centralized dashboard to monitor storage consumption and manage data growth effectively. This tool provides real-time insights into how much data is being stored, making it easier to decide when to archive or delete outdated records.

This streamlined tool simplifies data retention management and helps maintain optimal system performance while ensuring compliance with organizational policies. Overall, it is a vital enhancement that supports better resource planning and scalability for the ServiceNow platform.

Administrators can now configure automated data management policies that facilitate archiving and purging of obsolete records, enabling more granular control over data retention. These enhancements provide improved reporting on data usage and ensure compliance with data governance standards, ultimately streamlining administrative overhead and maintaining optimal system performance.

Catalog Builder

The ServiceNow Yokohama release brings an upgrade to Catalog Builder, making it easier to create and edit catalog items. The new visual interface guides you through the process, so you can easily design and refine your service catalog. It also includes built-in checks to ensure everything stays consistent, making life simpler for both admins and developers.

Another great improvement is better multi-language support, making it easier for customers to maintain catalog items in their own language, instead of relying on English.

AI Guardian

In the ServiceNow Yokohama release, AI Guardian now continuously monitors the inputs and outputs of generative AI, focusing on three key areas, designed to keep interactions secure, reliable, and compliant with both internal and external standards.

Firstly, it helps protect against harmful content, keeping track of things like toxic language, misinformation, privacy issues, and security threats to ensure the AI stays safe and trustworthy.

Secondly, it detects attempts to bypass the AI’s instructions, such as through role-playing or repeated commands, preventing any unexpected behavior or unauthorized access.

Finally, AI Guardian filters subjects like workplace safety or employee compensation. If these come up, the system redirects users to a safer Virtual Agent topic for a better experience.

Agentic AI/Agent Studio

The ServiceNow Yokohama Release comes with some great updates that make work a lot easier. With new features like voice input and better data control, businesses can automate tasks, make quicker decisions, and grow, all while staying compliant.

One of the most exciting updates is Agentic AI, which allows AI agents to handle tasks independently, learning and making decisions with less human input. This means repetitive tasks can be automated, giving teams more time to focus on important work. Along with this, seamless workflow integration makes it easier to automate tasks and reduce manual effort, while better data usage ensures faster, more accurate decision-making by analyzing both structured and unstructured data. Plus, the Now Assist Skill Kit gives businesses the flexibility to customize, clone, and adjust ServiceNow skills, making sure the AI aligns with their needs.

There are also several new features designed to improve accessibility and user experience. The new voice input feature allows users to control the Now Assist Panel hands-free, in any supported language. Moreover, businesses now have more control over data overflow processing preferences, including the option to opt out of cloud bursting to Microsoft Azure. This helps you manage your data more easily while staying compliant with regulations.

Other highlights worth mentioning include the multi-turn Q&A, which allows the system to remember previous questions, making follow-ups smoother and more relevant. If you need to share insights, the ability to export dashboards and visualizations directly from conversations is a huge time-saver. You can easily collaborate and share key information with your team.

Finally, for easier content management, the Summarize with Now Assist Context Menu helps with content management by quickly generating summaries, allowing you to easily expand or collapse them. Furthermore, the email recommendations feature lets you pick the tone for your emails, ensuring they always hit the right note for your audience.
